woman cleaning in kitchen

The kitchen is the heart of every home. The kitchen has frequent activity; keeping it clean and beautiful can become time-consuming. There is a lot of misconception about what is the proper way to clean your kitchen surfaces. Our blog includes the basic do’s and don’t’s of kitchen cleaning to help you save time and money to get you to a cleaner kitchen!

DO: Clean Your Stainless Steel Appliances with Vinegar and Olive or Coconut Oil
DON’T: Clean Your Stainless Steel Appliances with Glass Cleaner

Window cleaner leaves a streaky residue and over time, creates a dull look. The harsh chemicals cause discoloration in the outer protective layer losing its shine. Use vinegar mixed with a water solution on a soft cloth lightly on the grain of the metal. Use a paper towel with a small amount of olive or coconut oil to get rid of the water stains.

DO: Sanitize Your Sink Daily
DON’T: Rely On Rinsing Out Sink with Just Water

The kitchen sink can be dirtier than the household toilet. The task of quickly rinsing and reusing a utensil you placed in the sink is the equivalent of brushing your teeth right after your toothbrush fell in the toilet. Rinsing out your sink with water won’t clean your sink. Use baking soda and vinegar to disinfect your sink from E.coli and other bacteria.

DO: Wipe Up Every Spill Immediately
DON’T: Do Not Leave The Spill For The Next Day

After meal prepping and serving the meal, it easy to let yourself leave the clean up for the next morning. Acidic substances and oils can ruin naturally stained countertops.

DO: Wash The Dishwasher
DON’T: Rely On The Dishwasher to Self Clean After Every Wash

Wash the outside and inside of your dishwasher. Use baking soda on a damp sponge to wipe around the machine’s edges to remove stains and food. To sanitize the inside of the dishwasher, add a small amount of bleach to a regular dish cycle.
